"The climate in the McKenzie watershed varies from the
lowlands of the Willamette
Valley to the highlands in the Cascades. The climate
in the Willamette Valley portion of the watershed is relatively mild throughout
the year, characterized by cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers.
The average minimum temperature in Eugene, which is close to the western end
of the watershed, is about 33 degrees Fahrenheit for the coldest month and the
average maximum is about 82 degrees Fahrenheit for the warmest month.
Corresponding temperatures for the coldest and warmest month at Belknap Springs
in the eastern portion of the watershed are about 27 degrees and 81 degrees
Fahrenheit (Oregon Climate Service, 1994)."
