Did you miss the McKenzie Arts Forum's River Totem sculpture, that was exhibited at the McKenzie River Ranger Station Scenic Byway West Portal during the McKenzie Arts Festival on October 13 and 14, 2001?

Seven youth and three professional artists from the McKenzie Arts Forum worked on the project June through October 2001. The Totem included the landscape, flora, fauna, culture, and history of the McKenzie River area. The project engaged the youth in the entire art process, including the design, implementation, and exhibition of the sculpture.

This project is a partnership project developed through ArtsWorks, a YouthArts program of Lane Arts Council. Partners include: McKenzie Arts Forum, Lane Arts Council, McKenzie 21st Century Community Learning Center, McKenzie Watershed Council, Lane Workforce Partnership, and McKenzie Ranger District.

The Totem project was made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts, McKenzie 21st Century Community Learning Center, McKenzie Watershed Council, Lane Workforce Partnership, Weyerhaeuser, and EWEB.
